Salary: Up to £28,000 with 20 days of holiday per annum, benefits and pension scheme after a qualifying period

 

OVERVIEW

 

Itim, one of the UK's most exciting software vendors in the retail sector, are seeking an enthusiastic, positive and highly motivated individual to play a vital part in our continued growth and success.
 
We have offices in London, Hull, Huntingdon, and Plymouth servicing many household retail brands. This role is based in Huntingdon.

 

Due to the recent expansion of our customer base, we now need to increase the size of our Software Testing Team and looking for an experienced full time Software Test Engineer.

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Manage testing phase of the software development lifecycle, provide efficient reporting and fault tracking.
• Understand the software requirements, functional and technical specifications.
• Devise effective test plan, test cases and produce test scripts.
• Understand and write SQL queries and Windows Shell Scripts.
• Execute manual and automated testing.

 

KEY SKILL REQUIREMENTS

 

• Good and proven experience of Software Testing is essential. Experience of testing in a Retail environment, especially EPOS will be considered as a great advantage.
• Experience of working with Microsoft SQL Server is essential.
• Experience of Windows based Operating Systems and understanding of Windows Networking.
• Understanding of Software Testing Methodologies.

• Strong understanding of Relational Database Management tools.
• Good understanding of XML.
• Experience of SQL Scripting and Shell Scripting. VB scripting experience will be an advantage.
• Solid knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office.
• Good understanding and practical experience of Automated Testing.
• Excellent communication, time management and multi-tasking skills.
