Pre-Season Planning.

This all about setting the budgets for the coming year, agreeing the sales outlets and revenue expectations from them, both online and store, and then going down to the level of defining the product range and the assortment, leading to a clear view of the products you will be selling in the coming season.

Very common in the Fashion industry where Buyers and Merchandisers need to make commitments ahead of the season.

One of our clear USPs in this is our ability to do what we call size optimisation. Particularly important in fashion, and also article scoring which allows us to look at probability of sale by channel or outlets.

The outputs of Pre-Season Planning allows us to:

In Season Planning.

This is common to all retailers and at its heart is the production of the WSSI, to support retailers with Intake planning. The WSSI is basically taking the MFP at category level and converting it to a stock based intake plan. We are now working at a weekly level.

Essentially during in-season planning the focus shifts to ‘product line cards’. As this allows us to optimise stock, drive replenishment or allocation and maintain an ‘open to buy’ position.

In addition to this we also support ‘promotional planning’. Most retailers launch price promotions to clear or accelerate sales of products or within categories. These all create ‘overlays’ on the line cards.

The outputs of this are:

  • .Adjustments to Purchase Ordering, (open-to-buy) as driven from the Line Cards, by supplier or category
  • .Weekly allocation or replenishment recommendations
  • .Weekly price or promotional recommendations
